With self-publishing platforms on the rise the past few years, publishing a book isn’t such a far-fetched idea anymore.

If you have a book you always wanted to write, now’s the time to get actual feedback on a platform like Twitter or Medium and see how your reader reacts to ideas for your book.

Why I want to write a Self-Publish children’s book

My daughter turns four this year, and she’s growing way too fast.

The selfish part of me wants her to stay this age for longer, but that’s not how things work. So I decided that it would be a good memory to create a children’s book based on my interactions with her. It would be a dream come true to finally have the book in my hands when it’s published.

If the feedback is good, I hope to continue with a book series in the near future!

What I have started to do

To prepare myself to write the book, there are 3 things I have started doing.

• • Record interesting conversations with her. Just today, we were chatting about cockroaches and why they die lying on their backs
  • Look at children’s books she enjoys reading
  • Get recommendations for children’s books from other parents (what’s your child’s favourite bedtime book?)
